Why Shop Small & Local?
When you shop small and local, you really are putting the money back into your community! Even shopping from those Moms who sell essential oils, Rodan + Fields (Like my sister), or Stella & Dot, you are helping empower other women in your community who are juggling their lives with a side hustle. These small businesses in turn end up using other local businesses for everything from legal work, accounting, packaging, printing, mailing, webpage design, or other services.
I can tell you for a fact, the money I earn from teaching Yoga and this business helps support “paying it forward” to my local community. In addition, I am proud to employ college students to come into my house and train them in the business and how to hand make products such as our vegan soaps and yoga mat sprays. I feel like I am also empowering young women to show them the potential that comes from hard work and dedication. It’s a great lesson in business ownership from letting them assist with supply chain logistics to customer relations
Most small businesses are a true family affair. They come with sweat and tears where everyone comes together to chip in to meet those larger orders. This past weekend, I had my family in town and we had a blast constructing shipping boxes, measuring out essential oils for yoga mat sprays, running to UPS to deliver Amazon orders, to having my 13 year old niece assist on solid perfume packaging and manufacturing.
I am so proud to be partnering with a local female owned consignment shop, Style 5:16, to promote Small Business Saturday this year. The first 50 people who show up get a special goody bag which contains one of our lavender-oat vegan soap samples. You can also find our soaps for sale there this week along with the Toledo Yoga boutique.
We still believe in the American Dream over here. Quality over corporate profit.
